FANI KONSTANTINIDOU

Fani Konstantinidou is a composer, performer, and musicology researcher interested in the sonic imprints of cultural, cross-cultural, and social identities. Inspired by urban and rural sonic environments, she composes music that combines diverse sonic elements with conventional and self-designed digital musical instruments. Her musical ideas are expressed in various formats, including site-specific and multichannel compositions, improvisation, and collaborative projects with artists from diverse disciplines. Within this context, she performs live electronics and composes music for solo instruments and small ensembles.

She is one of the founding members of New Emergences Foundation, a platform advocating on diversity in electronic music and digital culture. She is also member of the art collective GROND, a communal art space in Amsterdam Oost. At GROND, she develops her own artistic projects, and together with Jasna Veličković, produces the concert series TEMPERATURA.



Fani Konstantinidou was born in Greece and, currently, she lives and works in Amsterdam. She studied classical guitar and she has a bachelor's on Music Technology & Acoustics. Later on, she studied electroacoustic music composition, obtaining a master’s degree from the Ionian University in Greece, as well as from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, the Netherlands (Institute of Sonology). She is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam she works as a lecturer at the University of the Arts The Hague (Royal Conservatoir, Institute of Sonology) and the Univeristy of the Arts Utrecht (Music & Technology).
